We stand with the AAPI community

The rising violence against our Asian-American/Pacific Islander (AAPI) community is a painful and urgent reminder that we must unite against racism in all its forms. Pathwire condemns any acts of violence, prejudice, or discrimination toward any group, and supports all efforts to end hatred of any kind. To achieve this, we must fight discrimination, bias, and racism in all forms.

As an email service provider, our platform is used to power communication for a variety of organizations and services. We embrace the reality that we have a unique responsibility to be a vehicle for diverse opinions, not a vehicle for oppression, and we commit to fighting this fight on a number of fronts:

  • Our platform will not be utilized as a mechanism to spread violence and hate speech. We have robust content review processes in place to quickly identify and stop senders who violate our Acceptable Use Policy.

  • On a daily basis, our compliance team is tasked with discerning between the freedom of expression and the provocation of unnecessary harmful acts. We will continue to do our part by blocking senders that incite hatred or spur violence.

We want to bring awareness to organizations for allyship and resources for fighting anti-Asian discrimination to which some of our staff have donated:

  • Stop AAPI Hate - An initiative by Asian Pacific Planning and Policy Council (A3PCON), Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA), and the Asian American Studies Department of San Francisco State University, this organization runs the Stop AAPI Hate Reporting Center which tracks incidents of discrimination, hate and xenophobia against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States

  • Asian Americans Advancing Justice Atlanta – The first and only nonprofit legal advocacy organization dedicated to protecting the civil rights of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (AANHPI) in Georgia and the Southeast.

  • CAAAV Organizing Asian Communities – Through their organizing model of base-building, leadership development, campaigns, alliances, and organizational development, CAAAV helps organize Asian communities in New York to fight for institutional change and participates in a broader movement towards racial, gender, and economic justice.

At Pathwire, we will continue to fight on an everyday basis to ensure our platform is not used as a vehicle for hate, and we will not shy away from conversation around prejudice, violence, oppression, and hate. We support our own AAPI team members and stand together.
