Introduction

Created in 2014, Exoticca is the first Spanish travel agency 100% online, specialized in unique travel experiences to exotic destinations and at a very competitive price. Exoticca’s offers are available for a limited time on its website and are focused on medium or long distance destinations, classified by theme, such as tours, beaches, nature or cities.

Email marketing is for Exoticca one of the main strategies to boost its sales. When the company started to expand into other European countries, it decided to partner with Mailjet, as it needed a scalable platform that could seamlessly adapt to its rapid growth and provide a faster and closer support service.

Today Exoticca sends its weekly newsletters to 50,000 contacts in Europe and the United States in four different languages.

The challenge

Exoticca’s previous email provider offered a campaign creation tool that was outdated and not agile and intuitive enough for any marketing partner to easily edit and design email templates. In addition, the resolution of incidents affecting the system was quite slow and costly, and was always carried out by a different support agent.

With the internationalization they wanted to implement, Exoticca was looking for an email platform that, in addition to being agile and secure, would offer continuous support and advice from experts in deliverability and email best practices, so they could focus on what was really important: the growth of their business.

The solution

Exoticca found in Mailjet a partner with a solid and reliable structure, which reduced the number of technical incidents that normally hindered the company’s work. In addition, its email editor is very intuitive and easy to use, which makes the newsletter creation process easier and allows the marketing department to work more creatively without the need for specific knowledge.

The vision

The work of Exoticca and Mailjet has a clear future projection. Soon, the company plans to launch automated email campaigns to take advantage of all the information they already have on their contacts, and to use Mailjet’s powerful API to manage their transactional mailings as well.

We started working with Mailjet and, from the first moment, the support we received was very close, but above all of a high professional level. We can now say that we have a clear strategy, with an international perspective and with which we have also improved our open and click-through rates. But this is not all, we are still working and our next challenge is focused on growth and process automation to increase our efficiency.”
