How can I add an unsubscribe link to my newsletter?

In addition to being mandatory, the unsubscribe link is very helpful for you to avoid being marked as a spammer. By having a visible unsubscribe link, your recipients can easily unsubscribe from your mailings lists, otherwise they may mark your message as spam.

When using our online WYSIWYG tool , the unsubscribe link is placed by default into the message body.

When using the "Import your HTML code (experts only)" , please use this code: <a href="[[UNSUB_LINK_EN]]">click here to unsubscribe</a>.

Please note: The "[[UNSUB_LINK_EN]]" only works in our HTML editor.

When your recipient clicks on your ‘unsubscribe’ link, they are then asked to validate their choice. If they do, their email address is automatically marked as ‘unsubscribed’ on that one contact list.

However, if that recipient is listed in several contact lists, their email address will remain as ‘subscribed’ in the other lists.

To see the list of unsubscribed addresses, simply sort the addresses by status in your contact list. To view all the unsubscribes in all of your contact lists, go to the Contacts, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the link beside “To date”. On the new page, you can select the ‘unsub’ to view all unsubscribes to date.

If you go through our SMTP Relay, you can also use: [[UNSUB_LINK_EN]] If you send the campaign via the ‘magic’ email list (xxxx@lists.mailjet.com) that appears in to the top left of your contact list, the ‘unsubscribes’ will be automatically be updated on that contact list. If you do not use this ‘magic’ address, the contacts will be marked as "unsubscribed" in your statistics, but they will not be unsubscribed from your list; it would be up to you to manage the unsubscribed emails.

When sending via SMTP, you do not need to use our link but you need to provide an unsubscribe link in all newsletters as per our policies.
